Royal Products, Structural Appraisal of Steel Portal Frame Structure

On behalf of Sapienza Sullivan Architects, Forward Structures were appointed to carry out a structural appraisal of an existing steel structure consisting of a steel portal frame and north-light truss. The appraisal was required in order to assess the condition of the structure and its load carrying capacity, against a proposal to clad the roof entirely with photo voltaic panels.

The steel structure was remodelled and checked against older material qualities and design codes methods in order to assess the suitability and capacity of the structure for the proposed new load.
