Delimara Power Plant, Construction of Waste Areas and Oily Water Catchment

Delimara Power Plant, Delimara (Malta)

As part of the ongoing Delimara Power Plant expansion program, Electrogas Malta Ltd. contracted Forward Structures to design a dedicated waste area for Delimara D4, consisting of a series of reinforced concrete ground slabs floated over reclaimed land, designed to withstand loads from construction vehicles and store waste generated from the operations of the Plant temporarily before proper disposal. Underlying the area is a series of piping for relief of storm water collection on the surface, as well as underground oily water storage areas which collects rainwater with potential oil contamination into oil separators for collection and proper disposal.
