Farsons, Imriehel (Malta)

From an interesting concept thought up by Open Work Studio, Forward Structures developed the proposal for a steel structure entirely suspended into a double height area, hanging from the existing Farsons administration building within the brewery ground. After defining the extents of the new proposed structure, a draft structural scheme was modelled together with the existing building structure. The existing structure was analysed to assess the capability of withstanding the additional loads imposed by the new structure.

Following confirmation that the existing structure could indeed take the additional loading, the structure was designed and detailed in close collaboration with OWS to achieve the final product.
