Delimara (Malta)

Siemens Aktiengesellschaft Österreich was awarded an order of €175M by Electrogas Malta for the turnkey construction of a 200 megawatt (MW) natural‐gas‐fired combined cycle power plant (CCPP).

Attard Bros. Group won the tender for all civil works, roads and infrastructure, pipe and cable support steel structures directly from Siemens Aktiengesellschaft Österreich as Siemens’ subcontractor, following which Karl Farrugia (Forward Structures) was appointed Project Manager.

The contract which commenced on site in June 2015 consisted of a quick‐paced zero-float program designed and co‐ordinated by Karl Farrugia and which was schedule around the erection sequences of the mechanical components of the power plant and against heavily penalised deadlines. Under direction on site of the undersigned, Attard Bros. honoured its commitments to the fullest and completed the vast majority of the project by end 2015, with the remaining underground infrastructure and roads due for completed at the end of Summer 2016.
